flm rustler stampede trany case

Hi all I had a thot to use a cut down axle shaft for the idler shaft. :028:

I just used the stock idler shaft from the stock tranny. Worked fine for me. I actually don't think that an axle shaft would work.

I bought a hole plastic trany case just for the shaft then:031: realized it was the same 5x11 bearing. I think a cut down axle shaft or a top/spergear shaft would work just fine. why do think that wouldnt work RC?

By axle shaft, do you mean a CVD or dog bone? You would need to be sure that they are the right diameter, and somehow keep it in place like the original shaft was. I actually think it could work, it may just be too much trouble to make, when it is so much easier just to use the original.

If it's the axle, it would be fine, since the axles are 5mm like the idler shaft. Just make sure it's long enough.

I don't really understand. Would you use a modified driveshaft because it's stronger? Otherwise it's not worth the effort to modify one to fit. I've never heard of anybody breaking an idler shaft, at least not in a Rustler.

I may be the first one though...:027: Here's why.

RC it would be the axle stub. whats nitro the flm trany case does not come with the idler shaft so if you are not swapping parts you will need the shaft.

That's what I mean. Unless your stock idler shaft was damaged, you would swap it into the FLM case. I did.
