losi muggy **large file warning

i think I am finally closing in on the completion of my first large scale project. with the exception of my 15.15 2.5b (in the mail) everything is on the truck and seems to be working now. the video was made after the pics were taken so you may catch some extras on there that arent in the pics ...what you think? Sorry for the huge size

The vid-

snellemin 06.06.2007 12:25 AM

That is one clean looking setup.

jnev 06.06.2007 12:51 AM

Very nice set up. What do you recon the speed to be? What about the temps... are they staying fairly cool?

BrianG 06.06.2007 12:56 AM

Yes, that IS a very clean looking truck! The rear suspension looks funny because of the shock locations though - different from your typical tr/buggy.

check the top for the vid it should have been oked by you tube by now. as far as the heat goes it does run hot i finally broke down and cut into my little gem so the i could directly attach a heat sink from a computer to the fets. which you can kinda see better in the video, no thanks to youtube and its blur technique. as for controlling speed i had to use a 11 tooth pinion. it is like a scalded bandit with anything more and actually becomes something that you drive on acres, not lots.

jnev 06.06.2007 10:15 AM

That thing is wicked fast! Looks like a whole lot of fun.

Procharged5.0 06.06.2007 10:52 AM

Very nice! Well put together & clean!

AAngel 06.06.2007 11:39 AM

no mods, I like the way that you hid all of the wiring. It looks really clean. I also like what you did with the steering servo, with that long horn.

I don't want to be presumptuous or anything, but I couldn't see what sort of servo you are using. With that servo horn, you should be getting lots of throw in the steering. If you are using a digital servo (any servo really), be sure that you set the endpoints so that you don't get any over throw in the steering. You don't want to burn out that servo.

It must be nice to have to kind of room to run around in. What are you using for a battery tray?

BlackedOutREVO 06.06.2007 12:25 PM

DAMN!

that things GOES! im doung one FOR SHURE! my summer project rite here!

wallot 06.06.2007 02:18 PM

Thats exactly inspiration I needed. Its big as a monster truck, but it has simple buggy drivetrain. who knows how long i will resist before I get one myself :)

im using that digital 300oz hitec servo ...6955... i think? ya end points are dialed in right at the servo saver threshold. the bat tray is made from single twill aerospace carbon scraps that i CA'ed together

fixed over heating issues without fans (thank god)!! temps seem to stay around round 114 on esc and 120's with the 1515 2.5 (even with giganto' mashers) which suggest i could possible even move her up on pinon size. max amps 5s 5ah packs keep a cool 90°

additionally ive contacted a friend of a friend to build a LVB (low volt buzzer) like the micro scream but instead utilizes an adjustable pot to allow for different volt mins b4 audible warning. unfortunately this guy has not yet replied so does anyone know of someone willing to build such a device?
