Glad you finally got some decent weather to run in! Enjoy it.

For those of you that have watched the vid you my have noticed how hard it bottoms out when I jump it. Any suggestions on a suspension set up with some more damping? Im using big bores with some oil I bought here in Germany that says it is 2000WT. I think they label the oil weights over here different though so I'm not sure what that is in the U.S. Right now it will bottom out from about a 1 foot drop.

Are you looking for new shocks, or what oil to run?
Nice video. Looks like a pretty nice place to bash at. |
Im just looking for ways to improve the damping if the big bores.

Looks like a blast man! That is a great bashing spot.
I have big bore on my maxx with 50wt oil and trinity Xxtra heavy springs (dark blue) for general bashing it is way too stiff and springy, but for the big air they soak up the landings like butta'. For general bashing I run the trinity's on the outside for corners and the standard maxx springs on the inner shocks. I may go up to 60wt thoughas my jumps keep getting larger. |
thanks for the advice i think i might give them springs a try. I like big air.
The bash spot is pretty fun now since the rain washed out the hill and made it smooth. Only problem is that its always raining here and if you're not careful you sink in about a foot of mud. |
Just a note on those springs.. they are VERY stiff and springy. for general bashing they are way too much to have 8 on the truck.
|
I'll play with the set up a little bit. Right now in my 3.3 revo I'm running stock springs and shocks with trinity 90wt oil in them and it is perfect for that spot.

Just remember if the oil increase is too dramatic you'll need to change pistons too to allow the oil to pass through quick enough.
