Cutting down motor winds....
 

Okay,

I've ordered a Kontronik Twist-55 for my tourer, but the problem is that it has those cumbersome long winding wires coming out of it like the hackers and feigaos.

Well, why is it strongly prohibited to cut them down a bit and make them shorter?

I know they're part of the internal winds, but cutting them down doesn't really mean it's gonna affect or damage the motor...right?

So, any input?

its just that the wires are enamelled winding wires and soldering them will require that coating to be removed.

Does anyone have an idea of how to remove the enamel?

I have my very first brushless system which is the kontronik fun480-42 and I've cut the winding of that motor without noticing any abnormal reaction from the motor. I think the enamel you're talking about is the same thing used on the Mamba Max controller soldered wires?
If so, I think it's very easy to make a strong and perfect joint without any trouble.

I had to cut those wires on the first XL motor I got. One of the wires was so frayed (and tinned) that there was no way to get a connector on it. After trying to get the wires to come together, one of the frays broke off. I figured it would be bad to just put the connector on like that, so I cut 1/4" off. Also figured I should keep all wires the same and cut 1/4" off of each. I just heated them up with a good hot soldering iron and flowed solder until it ran off and took all the burnt coating crap with it.

Nay, I'll just cut it down and heat it up and then tin it. No need to kill myself for brushless junk. Pricy junk, though...:)
