Revo diff cup

Hi mike !!!

I would like to know if the revo diff cup you sell for the price you have listed, is that for 1 cup or 2 cups. Also are they machined or cast. Thank's

Dafni 06.17.2005 02:14 AM

Unfortunately that's the price of one  But they are serious quality, milled out of one piece, I think.
Mike, please correct me when I'm wrong.

I hope RCM-Mike can get his hands on some alu diff-housings soon ;) Hint Hint

Tell you what, they are cast :o Sorry for the mis-information.
But I can tell you from experience, they are a good fit.

The diff cups are not cast, but machined by EDM, just like their maxx diff cups.. And daf is correct, the price is for one diff cup.

Dafni 06.19.2005 12:21 PM

You sure? Check the inside of one of them, looks cast to me. But I might be wrong, though.

What you see is the "burn" marks from the EDM machine. While I am note 100% sure, I am almost positive these are made with an EDM machine. An aquaintance of mine(master tool and die maker) suggested this was the method by which they were made.

Interesting, you might be right.
Either way, I think it's a good hop-up towards a driveline that can handle a serious BL.
Next thing I'll be looking for will be alu diff housings. Any ideas Mike? I saw some, somewhere, but they were not avaiable yet. Can't remember where, though.

The only concern I have is the small screws used to attach the cup to the ring gear. these were prone to failure in the maxx trucks (which is why the aftermarket diff cups went to 3mm screws). You have been running it, though, so they must hold up fairly well. By diff housings, do you mean the bulkheads?

I too thought they are molded, by the looks on the inside. That rough surface made me think the same as Daniel. They can be moded and machined on the outside.

By diff housing I don't mean bulkheads. I'm thinking of this 2-piece shell that holds the bearings for the input and output shafts. See what I mean?

What do you think?

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 12:58 PM

Cool. I guess I will have to get myself an account with 3Racing so I can stock them for you!

Dafni 06.19.2005 01:03 PM

Ja, good to hear! Do that, Mike. I'll also check their alu rims. Already smell a new order ;)

RC-Monster Mike 06.19.2005 01:09 PM

I just sent an inquiry e-mail to set up an account. Hopefully, they will respond tomorrow.
