I have a quesition for you which is faster the novak brushless maxx system with 14 cells or the 9920 esc with the 9L motor on 14 cells? That is with out changing the gearing. Could you tell me how fast they would go for example the 9L 45mph

If you do the calculations (assuming stock tires, and 14 1.12V cells) you get 25mph in first and 41mph in second gear. But this is bone-dry hypotetical.

With the single speed conversion you will obviously only have one gear available, namely the second. You can vary gearing by changing pinions and spurs.

If you looking for speed I am sure there are some Lehner XLs that run faster on 14 cells?

Also, what are the Feiago XLs like? 7XL would be faster?

What can you expect from an XL on 14 cells? Which one would you take? 7L? What temps and runtime? Could you run it savely with the 99amp warrior?? |

It can run on the 9918/9920, a person on this forum uses the 7XL on 18 cells with the 9918. Normally a big motor on low volts is not very efficient in the midrange power. (half load) it takes a highend motor (such as 2230/2240/2250 to become more efficient in this partitial load.. ) i know a person in Germany who ran his 2240/8 on a 9918 with great succes on 16 cells in a centerdiff converted, yet very heavy savage. Not recommended, but it's possible you won't burn your controller..

The 9920 can easily handle the 7xl on 14 cells. The 7xl will be very nice on 14 cells as well, but will need to be geared taller than a 9L for the same speed. I will do some running with a 1940/8 in my e-maxx soon(as soon as I get a 4mm bore pinion). The higher end motors, as Serum said, are more optimal fo partial load currents (althought they aren't cheap!).

There's supposed to be an updated version of Wanderer motors soon. Apparently they should be almost equal to the high end Lehners, but much less expensive.
