Anyone running a BL Twin Force?
Same as the thread topic, possibly looking at picking up a nice roller as an alternative to giving into my all lunsford/rpm/gorillamaxx emaxx. Save myself so dough :)
|
Yes i am actually a very nice one, interested? I just blew my controller and might be looking to sell the twin and just work on my maxx.
|
I have a 9L TF, and love it for what it is, a true MT!
I will never sell it, for it is my Basher. I send it thru ridiculous stuff at my gravel-pit, it just has amazing jumping charactristics. |
What sort of money would I have to put into it in order to make it suitable for a 10L on 12 cells?
|
Nothing, the twin is built tough, here a list of things i have on it.
1)New Era 2 inch Double Extended Chassis 2)New Era Center Skid Plate 3)New Era Shock Mounting Kit 4)New Era Beefy Titanium Extended Center Dog Bones x 2 5)New Era Beefy Titanium Outer Axle Dog Bones x 4 6)New Era Stainless Steel Screw Set 7)Duratrax Thunder Quake Wheels x 2 8)Proline Masher 40 Series Tires x 2 9)Kyosho Upgraded Steel Ring and Pinion Gears for Front and Rear Differentials 10) Steering Linkage has been upgraded to 4mm threaded stainless steel rods with Traxxas Revo ball ends |
Impressive spec sheet!
|
Thanks, but i must get rid of it since i can't afford to support both my twin and maxx, so goes the twin to anyone who will give it a good home for a fair price.
|
A twin force is my next project. I just love solid axle trucks. How about 60 mph plus!
Thank you, Promod |

I got my Clod to break 50 mph very easy. With the power system going in my Twin force, 60 mph shouldn't be hard. Still in the planning stage right now. But work on the Twin will start soon.
Thank you, Promod |
So, looking at the specs on Mike_D's truck, do you think I would need to beef up the drivetrain in order to handle a 10L on 12 cells? I heard something about helical gears? Where can I get those. I'm way new to the mt market.
Edit: Will I need a 1/8th or 5mm shaft? Not sure on the weight of a twin force versus the maxx. |
If you can choose, go for a 5mm shaft. The hardened 1/8 shafts of the Lehner motors should also work well, I was told. But for Feigao's Nemesis, go 5mm.
Back in the days when I bought my TF, I got the helical ringgear and pinion from Tower. But I think Kyosho has an independent supplier in the states now. Maybe Mike can help you. DAF |
I can tell you first hand experience the the hardened steel gears that are in my twin and the helical gears are both equally strong, the only difference is that the helical gears are a bit quieter, thats all.
