3.3 shafts and 1/8th diffs

Will the 3.3 shafts and 1/8th diffs work together on my e-maxx?

jhautz 06.18.2007 09:44 PM

You will need to do the axel stub mod on the diffs. You replace the diff outdrives with the 3.3 axle stubs with the threads cut off and it will bolt right up. I know there is a thread round here on it but I cant seem to find it. I did it on mine and it worked sweet.

Maybee one of the mods has a better serch tool, or just remembers the thread.

That would be nice cause I have no clue what to search for.

Mike can get you the stubs you need; FLM produces them.

Whats the difference between the pro and regular hb diffs?

jhautz 06.21.2007 11:27 PM

Pro are helix cut with a 10 tooth pinion and 43T ring gear. Regular are straight cut teeth with 13T pinion and 43T ring gear.

So which should I use in my e-maxx?

jhautz 06.21.2007 11:40 PM

Stock Emaxx diffs are 13/37, the regular HB diffs are 13/43 and the pro are 10/43.

If your running a transmision you want the regular. The pro have a lower gear ratio and it forces you to run a really big pinion to compensate. Even the regular HB diffs are a lower ratio than the stock maxx diffs so you will need to run a slightly bigger pinion. The pro are even lower and you will run out of room on the motor plate for the really big pinion.

The pro are more geared toward trucks running a center diff.

buggy version i believe non pro is what you want, but i am only 95%sure.

Ok thanks for the info guys.

Yeah, pick the 43/13 for your e-maxx.

I also need certain stubs to use my 3.3 axles with these diffs and hybrid bulks right? Are they on the site...I e-mailed Mike, but still havnt heard back from him and I kind of want to get all this done so I can get my E running.

You can get the revo stub axles, cut off the threaded piece and you'd be set.
