Woud a directdrive outrunner work ?

Do you guy's think that a directdrive outrunner woud woud work in a truggy insead for a centerdiff ? and the centershaftoutputs woud be mounted directly on to the motir shaft ! if this coud work what rpm/v woud be good ? and waht size outrunner ?
