MMwith 540c xl

will this combo work? i dont know since the motor is sensorless and i dont know alot about the MM, im about to place my order and want to be suire that i dont make a huge mistake.

zeropointbug 06.24.2007 02:37 AM

You betcha it will work. :)

asianplayer 06.24.2007 02:40 AM

sweet thanks, so i just dont connect which connector on the MM? the white connector?

zeropointbug 06.24.2007 02:05 PM

Which white wire are referring to? On the receiver wire? If so, then you cut the middle wire, and you need an external BEC (UBEC) to power the reciever and servos.

asianplayer 06.24.2007 02:40 PM

no i was talking about the wire that connects the MM to the motor, since the motor is sensorless wont it have one less wire coming from the motor?

bdebde 06.24.2007 05:02 PM

The controller is also sensorless, so no extra wires.

BrianG 06.24.2007 05:05 PM

In sensorless, there are only the three main motor wires. In sensored, you have those wires and an extra ribbon cable.

asianplayer 06.24.2007 06:23 PM

oh i see, well that cleared everything up for me, Thanks everyone.

suicideneil 06.24.2007 06:40 PM

Hehe, brushed motors only have two wires, + & -. Brushless motors have 3- switching any two around will reverse the direction the motor turns.

What are you putting this in? If it's for a truck, my vote goes for the 9XL.

asianplayer 06.24.2007 07:15 PM

yeah im putting it in my revo, but i got a xl7 and i already ordered it so to late now, but im not worried if anything il pit a fan on it if it gets hot. Besides my gearing is 16/38 but i might go 16/36 just hope it still wheelies.

zeropointbug 06.24.2007 10:55 PM

Believe me, the 7XL will wheelie. :D

You won't be short of power, especially if this is your first BL setup. I would have suggested the 9XL as well, I have a 7XL but regret not getting a 9XL instead. It wasn't the power that I didn't like, it is the heat now that it's summer.

asianplayer 06.24.2007 11:03 PM

well I see what happens, besides rc-monster didnt have a 9xl in stock. Besides if anything il make something to make it run cooler.

AAngel 06.25.2007 01:31 AM

Don't kill yourself putting a fan on the 7XL. It really doesn't help much.

asianplayer 06.25.2007 01:33 AM

no no what i meant was i am going to add another heatsink or something, im not stressing to much about this i will figure it out when it gets here. you never know it may not overheat to much seeing as it is the 540c thich has a heat sink integrated into it.
