possible mount

hey all,
i was at my LHS today and noticed something that could be a promising motor mount. its a heatsink clamp that goes around the can. then just make some standoffs that would mount to the nitro mount. it sounds better in my head. i am just not shure about the stregenth

That's what Fine Design does to mount motors in cars, and IMO, it's not a good setup. In cars it's best to keep the motor firmly mounted to a plate that is somehow in contact with the gear it is powering (like Mike's mounts).

Chassis flex can give you a hard time with the motor mounted on the chassis. I know that the nitros get away with it, but we're talking a whole different animal with brushless. LOTS more torque.

oh ok. i just figured since it worked on a 1/8th scale buggy it would work for the revo. but i guess not. dayum the RCM mount is out of stock
