Lipo battery help for my E Revo?
I am starting to get the idea of power and speed behind Lipo's for my E-Revo. Which size should I buy. Meaning they get expensive. I was thinking about 6000 mah 3s which I have had explained to me why I need 4s. I plan to get the 4s but which size mah should I get? I will be getting 2 of them to series or parrellel. What size mah?

Since you say you will be running two packs, I assume you are going with a pack on each side? If that is the case, I would get two 2s packs and put them in series.
As far as capacity, it depends what you plan to do. For racing, you want the least amount of weight possible while choosing a battery that will supply the power you need for as long as you need for the heats/mains. For bashing, weight isn't as big a concern. If you want to spend the bucks for some nice packs, get the flightpowers or similar quality. They will be light yet pack the punch you need. If cost is a bigger concern, maybe a pair of Maxamps 2s2p 8Ah packs would work well. You'll get lots of runtime (about 30-40 minutes at a guess). Another thing to keep in mind is the battery C rating. You want to pick a pack that has a C rating high enough to cope with the current you'll be pulling. I always choose a pack that can put out about 25-50% more current than you'll need. This will keep them from getting too hot since they won't be working as hard. BTW: You can simply continue your other thread for the same vehicle without having to create a new one for a different sub-topic... |
I told you I was new. In the future I will continue the same theard. Thanks for the tip. As for the packs yes I will have one on each side. I will basicly be bashing but I also want to race. 1 E-Revo to do both. I have a stampede with a 2s2p 6000 mah. I love the handling. But when I put a 3s in it the speed is better for racing. This is where I get lost. I want to race and bash but don't want different batteries. Maybe there is no over all fix for this. I want it to be fast but made to bash.
