Stampede Dilemma
hey guys i just picked up a XL-5 Stampede on ebay for 145 shipped and looking to hook it up with a BL.
should i go: Mamba Max ESC + MM5700 OR Mamba Max ESC + Feigao please advise :043: :043: :043: |
judt stick with the MM motors. How many cells?
|
i'm planning on building the packs on my own, so i can do whatever would give me best runtime/power combo. any ideas?
|
I would go with the 4600, I tryed the 5700 in a stampede and wasn't satisfied with the acceleration, the 4600 is better
|
crazy, you weren't satisfied with the acceleration? That's strange. I found the 5700 system on 3S lipo to be a virtual rocket.
I do, however, like the 4600 system the best. It is very flexible. You can go from 2S lipo to 4S lipo for a broad range of performance ranges. Any MM system is going to put out more power than a stock pede can stand. |
if u guys were in my position would you wait for the VXL?
i didn't know it came with new upgrades!!!! :019: |
What, that Traxxas setup? Although my interest has been sparked by Traxxas' venture into the brushless market, I am a bit skeptical. I mean, they claim 70 mph on 3S lipo. Come on. I'm sure that they were able to make the system do it, but they're using a huge pinion. The 70 mph setup cannot be anything that you'd want to run for more than a couple of speed passes. Something's gotta get hot.
I do know that the MM systems have been around for awhile and I know them to be fast. VERY fast. If you take a 4600 system and run that on 4S lipo, I'd venture a guess and say that it will out do anything that the VXL system will do. Of course, I could be wrong. No one's run a VXL system yet. |
i was referring to the upgraded chassis pieces
edit: and metal tranny gears? |
AAngel - there is actually a review on the VXL rustler, pede and bandit in the August issue of rc car action.
I'd stick to the Mamba Max motors. Either the 4600 on 3s or 5700 on 2s. Anyone have an idea which would run cooler? |
The 5700 most likely will still run cooler, but the 4600 will be much more powerful. The only reason why the 5700 will have less torque than the 4600 on the same cells is if you have crappy batteries that cannot supply the required current.
