gonna be workin on an e-revo
got some things to figure out first. what are some good motor and esc combos? it will be a basher and not a racer. any good options for parts to use for battery trays? what are some good servos to look at? what about different tranny setups? money is not a big factor in the build.

Motor/ESC depends on budget. On the cheaper end, an XL motor and Mamba Max ESC work well. On the upper end, an MGM or Quark ESC with a Neu motor are hard to beat. The specific motor wind depends on the voltage you plan to run. The higher the better because you want less current (and the losses associated with high current) up to the limit of the ESC (MM=4s, Quark=5s, MGM=6s+).
Battery trays can be made of Almunim, plastic, etc. It really depends on the battery type/size you plan to use. Whatever servo you get, make sure it has at least metal gears, is fast (~.01sec) and if going with a single servo setup, at least 160 oz-in of torque. Tranny setups include using emaxx tranny (with better slipper and metal idler gear), stock Revo tranny (check out one of the stickies in the Revo forum), slipperential (basically a center diff/motor mount combo setup), or whatever you want to create. |

got any specific combos for motor and esc? like i said cost isnt a big issue.
|
Motor = Neu 1512/2.5d
ESC = Quark 125B or MGM 16018 Lipos = Flightpower 5s 5,000mAh pack UBEC = Koolflight if using the Quark, none needed if using the MGM. That's pretty much the cream of the crop right there. |
got any links to places to buy them at online?
|
All that stuff is located in the main storefront, mostly under the "brushless" link. http://www.rc-monster.com
|
well just about all of it is listed as out of stock
|
How about a MM+Lehner 1940? Thats a good combo. And you get the best esc. But it can only go up to 5s.
