Another E-Revo
Just thought I'd stick mine out there for comment...
A couple of "unique" things... 1) I used a cut down pede chassis for the battery tray - light strong and holds my 2 X 4000mah 3S Maxamps really well. 2) I found that a 40mm brushless PC fan fits perfectly under the teckno wing and just provides some extra air flow. The mamba is holding up fine with 9XL on 3S geared 24 / 65 - I have an external BEC to help keep it cool. Transmission was beefed up with the robinson slipper and dual metal gears. I kept the two speed using a 2060 micro servo mounted on the normal motor mount. I'm using a Spektrum so no interference and means I can keep all the wiring inside. Photo's below: http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u180/Arct1k/Erevo/ Thanks to stampedeproject for the inspiration and rc-Monster for the parts... Rgds PS Hurry up castle for the Monster so I can put those Lipo's in serial not parallel |
Looks good, but your gonna chew that pinion up pretty fast....

Nice!
You'd probably get better performance with the 9XL by going to 4s or even 5s and gearing down. The ESC and batteries won't have to work as hard that way. But if it works for you, then run it! |
I'd like to run 4S but need someone to rewire my packs - currently have 2 X 2p3s maxamps 4200 - Really would need 2x 3p2s - That way I can support the amp draw.
Anyone know if you can send packs back to maxamps for re-config? Alternatively I was hoping to go 6S at some point with the monster max...Giving up hope on castle though... |
Arct1k what did you have to do to the revos chassis to fit the e-maxx trans also I noticed that the e-maxx trans is mounted backwards??? I am just trying to gather up as much info on the e-revo before I do the conversion but I am going to hopefully use the stock e-maxx trans, motors and esc... this is what all I have to work with so
e-maxx complete but the chassis is broken in the front revo roller (no trans, electronics or motor) so I am hoping to find out the ins and outs of the build... thanks |

Thats it about 15 mins with the dremel - I cut away more that most as I wanted to straighten up the driveline as much as possible - you need a spare revo rear drive shift to go in the front as the emaxx transmission is not as long as the revo's.
