Help MM throttle does not work

I just searched this forum and can't find an answer. I just installed my MM speed controller and after calibration I have no throttle. I went through the calibration sequence twice, updated software and reprogrammed it. Still nothing. Steering servo works, everything beeps appropriately and I get good colors with full throttle, brake and neutral. Anyone have ideas? What did I do wrong?

Are you using a UBEC or receiver pack? And if so, did you disable the MM's BEC?

I got stupid one night and was testing things. I used an Rx pack, but did not disable the MM's BEC. Even though I didn't even hook up my main battery cells, I still got the beeps but no throttle.

I diabled the BEC by diconnecting the red wire. I used mike's UBEC.

Hmmm. I assume you've double checked all your battery and motor connections/solder joints? A bad solder or loose connection can allow the motor to make the beeps but not allow enough power to turn the motor.

And if that doesn't work: Just for giggles, try using the MM's BEC on 2s (basically a VERY simple stock setup) just to see if it works.

If it still has issues, something is likely wrong with the ESC. But symptoms like you describe sound a lot like the problem is connection related.

Thanks Brian. That is kind of what I thought, but I didn't solder these (since I never learned how to). I'll have every thing checked tomorrow.

Silly question but you did programme it for brushless on the s/w...

Another silly question but what is your LVC set at?

I even tried it disabled. Still no luck.

Have you had the connections looked at yet?

Back the motor leads off 5mm until you get to the fat bit of the connector and try that...

Figured it out. I was over voltage at 14 cells.

Spaz123 said "are you using 12 or 14 cells? After the controller is on and ready to go, is just the yellow LED on or are both the red and green LEDs on? If both Red and Green LEDs are on, you are over voltaging the controller. Try running it off of 1 pack just to see if it works.

When the controller is armed and ready to rock just the yellow LED should be on if everything is ok.

The reason i know this is because my friend just got his controller and had the exact same problem. The give away was that the red and green LEDs were on."

Could some one explain this? I thought the MM could run 14 cells?
