It's about time......
Yep, I've been waiting for this moment forever. It has been over a decade since we've seen a fierce battle between the rc manufacturers to dominate the off road world and take it by storm.
In the past, it was only a race between Associated and Losi, but this time, with Tamiya( already a two times champion in the touring car category), Yokomo( probably the most winning guys after Associated), Hotbodies( they've already settled everything in last year's ifmar touring race),and Kyosho( if you follow the times this company dominated the 8th scale off road championship, you know just how dangerous they are), I think The A team and Losi are scratching their heads and eating their nails in fear of all the big names that will participate in this year's 1/10 EP off road 4wd championship. Tamiya has their TRF 501X 4WD BUGGY Yokomo has it's MR4-BX 4WD BUGGY HotBodies has it's Cyclone D4 BUGGY Kyosho has the LAZER ZX-5 BUGGY Associated has it's brand new B44 BUGGY And Losi has it's own and the world is never going to be the same again. I have a strong feeling that the race will be dominated by either HotBodies or Associated, but Tamiya already showed just how capable their 501X is. Only 4-5 days to go befor the race starts. I really can't wait to see the results and pics of this highly anticipated event. Did I tell you that Team Tekin will be running their R1Pro brushless system in this event, and that all the competing teams will be running brushless? Good luck to everyone!=) |

Dont forget about the J-CONCEPTS BJ4. Would'nt it be great if a small company like them won it again . |
My moneys on the Hot Bodies. HB's cars are some of them best. Like the LSP when it came out was one of the best, if not the best truggy at the time. Same with the Cyclone. I think the Cyclone Moore Speed Edition is probably the best touring car around.

I don't get the big competition between buggies from different companies. Weight and setup options aside, it's the driver that makes the difference. It's just a matter of taking any buggy, making it light, easy to work on, durable, and offer lots of suspension adjustment options. Or am I way off base here?

Yes you are off base here. JK Brian the the big deal is because which ever because of buggy wins, is the one that every new guy will buy, because it will be advertised as the WORLD CHAMPION. |
OK, yeah, from that companie's sales perspective. I'm talking about actual drive characteristics. If every Joe Sixpack buys brand X just because it was the most frequent winner, it just seems to me that he's not very intelligent. A good driver can make even the crappiest vehicle win.

Thats not new, well for me A local onroader here has already raced with the R1pro a few times.... I hope the HB D4 kicks booty! |

BRIAN You know how some people think LOL. Just because they bought the car that won the worlds they think they will be as good as the acttual driver who won the worlds. LOL |
Why haven't I seen the T.Tech Predator on the top podium and lets not rule out the Academy buggy.
|
I am pulling for the academy or the J-concepts, I like that they were the first with the current design mid-motor (Jconcepts)

LARRY i would like to see JCONCEPTS win because jason is a local guy & super nice . LUTACH the preditor is awsome looking car. Also i had a academy sb pro & i was not impressed with it. With the calibur of drivers that are going to be there it 's anybodys game. |
I should get my Predators out for some hot laps. I have the XK98 and the onroad versions.

I'll get them out tomorrow. They are in the basement in a sealed container. I don't have my camera at the moment, but I'll try to use a cell phone.
|
Well, I completely forgot about the Pred and the Academy buggies, but who cares.
I'm only excited to see what new stuff are they going to show at the world's. This year's world's is one of the crowdiest. Let the FUNKY FUN begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
