better planetary gears

ive got a rustler and I keep killing my planetary gears. my trucks not to crazy its a 3s lipo lehner xl3600 with a old quark 80b, and im running half bald standard 2.2 gladiators. ive got a flm tranny case stock steel top gear, alum idler gear with a stock plastic diff gear. I was thinking of running the pro diff kit but im afraid ill just spin the gear with out spinning the outputs. any body know of a better setup?

Well, you could do some serious modding and install a spider diff instead. : )

Stampy, I have the same problem with my Rustler. I found I just have to be careful how hard I hit the throttle and the gears last much longer. (go easy on the wheelies!) I've thought about how much stronger a 4-spider, maybe even 6-spider, differential would be versus the planetary setup. Though it would require serious modding as Brian said. I don't know of any spider diff on the market right now that will fit in the Rustler's transmission case.

The FLM diff will help the planetary gears last a lot longer. My 4s powered rustler with maxx size slicks hasnt had a diff problem since I put one in.
