BLMGT & KB45, 8S, 3700mah 20C, Video

Video of my first run last week... it moved pretty good. I couldn't go more than a little over half throttle. It seems just to wheelie and flip over whenever I give it full throttle on the high grass. The car was acting funny after half way because the spur was melted in the center. I forgot to put some slipper pegs on the spur.. :) I will try to get a faster video of it... I changed to the KB45 1700kv motor.. so it's a little hot, but who cares... I trimmed down the throttle EPA to 90% so the motor doesn't get too close to 50K rpms... I was using stock tires.. anyways... here's the video.

Awesome. How hot did the motor get? Does it seem to be relibable? Make more videos LOL.

captain harlock 09.09.2007 10:05 AM

Crazy! That IS fast.

aqwut 09.09.2007 10:46 AM

it actually wasn't that hot at all.... I don't know know about reliability yet, but it seems to be fine.. for $50.. :) can't go wrong... I would rather buy 8 of these instead of my one 2280... that's for sure.. I wanted to make another video today but it's pouring.. we were suppose to be racing today. :D

It can be faster.. it's never fast enough Capt.. :)

lutach 09.09.2007 10:49 AM

I might get one.

aqwut 09.09.2007 10:59 AM

I bought 3, loved them so much. I bought 2 more...

what would it take to get one of those in an e-maxx, would a reverse motor mount be better, my hacker c-50 was large i know that motor even bigger.

Nick 09.09.2007 12:34 PM

Looks good aqwut!

How much does it weigh?

aqwut 09.09.2007 07:11 PM

it weighs about 15Lb-16Lbs.. I haven't weighed it yet.. but I know it weighs for than 15Lbs...

Aqwut, couple questions.

What did you do for 6mm pinions?
Does it have the same mounting pattern as a standard 540? Or that off a 22xx?
Also, how do you think it would perform on 6S in a lightweight truggy?

aqwut 09.09.2007 09:31 PM

I drilled out my 5mm pinion.. with a 6mm metric drill bit...(or you could get some gears from sdp-si.com)

Same mounting pattern as a 22' series motor.. (30 mm)

I think it would kick @ss in a truggy... using a feigao would save you 200 grams..

I wouldn't stick this motor in a E-maxx... unless it's bullet proof.. :)

zeropointbug 09.09.2007 09:49 PM

That's crazy man. I love it. :mdr:

aqwut 09.10.2007 03:11 PM

I think ur fullscale is much cooler... but thanks

posted comment on youtube. make sure you got your 23mm hex conversion on order. those stock 14mm lasted me less than a week. i just went to the max size 23mm wheels from proline and used stock tires. (boiled them off)

if you dont know already the slipper is a joke. make sure its locked all the way down or you will continue to melt gears
