need a power supply.. hows this?
how about getting a cord that plugs into a wall cutting the wires and the soldering deans onto them then connecting it to my charger? would that work?
i think someeon said theres too much amps volts or something goin through there? thanks! |
NO!
...Not unless you want an explosion! Wall voltage is 120v AC and up to whatever the circuit breaker/wires will handle (typically around 15A). You need a 12v DC supply capable of a current for whatever charger you need. |
lol kinda firgured that hhaaha wouldnt that be a show though!!
anyways thanks for the reply. ill just have to make another PC power supply... i couldnt figure it out this time though.. but o well |
Good thing you asked first! You would've definitely blown your charger and maybe even whatever battery you had plugged into it!
I take it you read this already? |
lol, thought you were getting out of RC? Good thing you didn't try the direct plug, that would've been nasty.
|
well.. lol i am going to keep the rc18... maybe buy a couple minis. the big ones are just too expensive.
and with the charger thingy... i didnt really think it woulda worked but it was worth a shot to ask. |

hahah probably... i would have gotten back in later anyways it has happened a bunch.
i was thinking about picking up the micro-t and just throwing in some bearings and that steering upgrade. wutcha guys think about them? |
Well I meant you probably would've electrocuted yourself eventually. Either when you made the plug and first put it in the charger, or after you plugged it in and saw smoke coming from the charger and went to rip it out fast and forgot it had 120V behind it. Especially with a Deans plug, not much insulation there to keep fingers safe.

ya even when im soldering and i hold the deans plug it gets WAYYY to hott to hold lol..
im glad im still in this hobby thuough! my girlfriend on the other hand... lol... |
Yeah, how is she btw... :surprised:
|
lol shes doin awsome lookin hotter than ever!
i might buy a micro-t for her hhaa! she will be entertained for about 5-10 minutes hopefully! |

It would be a shame to squish one of those! They're too expensive to squish!
