Zeropointbug's Electric truck conversion 1\1 scale
Tell me more about your truck. What motor are you using for a motor? Where did you get it? How long do you estimate it will run for? Do you paln to hook all the batteries up at the same time? Serious or parallel? Are you only replacing the motor? What kind of delays are you having? Just plane Curious. Thanks.

Wow! Thanks for the support Hickoryhead, I really appreciate it!:smile:
I managed to get 5 motors; AC Induction type, made by Siemens Germany for Ford motor company in their Ford EV Ranger (discontinued).... long story short, I got 5 motors for the price of one! Unfortunately, the company I buy EV components from cannot sell me the Siemens motor controller meant for Siemens motors because they do not the exact parameters of these motors to program the controller for it.... hence a delay in getting a different one. I got them from eBay if you are wondering. How long will it run for? -It should run for at least 60 miles on highway, maybe longer, in town that number should increase to about 80 - 90 miles range, which is plenty for me! Low range yes, that is because I am just using inexpensive lead acid batteries for starters. All the batteries will be connected up in series, for 360 volts nominal. The Optima's will be able to hold 12v at the 400 amps I need for acceleration. Delays.... who doesn't have them! The motor adapter plate took two months to be made by machinist, but that becuse he was busy with other work. If anyone is curious, check my sig for the link to the web album. |
Maybe Lehner should make a 3000800 motor for you HiLux truck and make it dance.
This project is absolutely out of my concern. Too dangerous for me. Quite interesting, though.:) |
I kinda need a new Optima for my truck. :mdr:

Nice work!!!! I have always wanted to build me a BL go cart. Then I started thinking maybe a golf cart on Steroids. Never though about a Toyota. When did you start the project?
You remind me of this guy. I watched his work from the beginning. http://www.wrightspeed.com/x1.html Way to go!!!:yipi: |
