lipo wiring

i was at work today (hobbypeople) and i was looking at my price on some new lipos we got. and i wanted to use 2 x 2cell 3200mah lipo packs on my e revo

but

i was wondering is there a way to wire them up so its not 2 cells any more but 4 cells and to also do the same with the mah. so instead of 3200 it would be 6400mah.

thanks

Which HP store you work at? I'm at the one in Fountain Valley.

Are you looking at the Multiplex Lipos, or the Impulse ones?

If you're looking to get 14.8v 6400mah, you will need four 2s 3200mah packs, or two 4s 3200mah packs.

oh i work at the one in chino hills. lol and im looking at the multiplex lipos

and yah im looking to get 14.8v 6400mah

and im looking at the 2cell 3200.

could i wire them up to give me 14.8v 6400mah

You will need 4 of those 2s 3200mAH packs to make it 14.8 volts and 6400mAH. What you should do is buy two 14.8 volt (4s or 4 cell) 3200mAH packs and wire them in parallel to make a 4 cell 6400mAH pack. This way, you only need two packs rather than 4 packs.

For 14.8v 6400mah, you'll need four of the 7.4v 3200mah packs. You'll wire up two pairs, with each pair being in series. So then you'll have two 14.8v 3200mah sets. Then, you'll put the two sets in parallel, to get 14.8v 6400mah.

Looks like jnev beat me.

ok well since i dont want to buy 4 of those packs you think that 2 of the 2 cell 3200 packs wired to get 4cell 3200 would be enough to push a 9xl motor on a revo 3.3 with stock tranny locked into secound gear.

for at least 15min.

MetalMan 10.02.2007 09:55 AM

With only 3200mah, you won't have a high enough discharge rating. You would get maybe up to 10mins of runtime, too.

drkros3 10.02.2007 02:15 PM

ok what about that impluse 4cell 4000 mah battery. its discharge rate its like 80.

would that give me a little more run time.

I'd go with at least 20c 5000 ie. 100 amps or 25c 125 amps - You can pick up a 4s 5000 20/25c pack for 135 shipped if you know where to look.

MetalMan 10.02.2007 08:48 PM

If you're going Impulse, look no lower than the 4s 4800mah 20C pack. I know it ain't cheap at $175 EP, but everything else will be underpowered. I'm running that 4s 4800mah pack in my Hyper 8 Pro, with a Neu 1512 2.5D (2000kv), Mamba Max ESC, custom switching regulator, and 14t pinion - good for about 35mph (already too much at the local indoor 1/10 track).

alright i think i well just look around and see what i can find.
