FLM e maxx tranny case

Just acquired 2 rear halves of the FLM al tranny case. Wondering how to get a front half to make a complete tranny. Will FLM sell me just the front? Anyone here want to sell the front case? Any info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Or go single speed and get the gmaxx front plate..

I think that the single speed case will fit my bill nicely. It is the half that i do not have, i have the back half that the shift rod comes out of. Just thought it would be nice to have a metal trans to hang the kb 45mm motor on. Those motors are hefty, plus the all al parts will act like a heatspreader/heatsink, maybe keep the motor cooler!

seen any issues with the motor being close enough to the spur for proper gearing? i'm just wondering because i haven't started mounting mine yet. i just got it in the mail yesturday.

No problems with a NEU 1515 on the FLM case, but thats the largest motor I've put on. The NEU is 39mm in dia. Maybe 42 w/cooling fins.

The KB motor will need a custom mount plate to replace the stock emaxx plate. The mount holes are m4 thread and 30mm apart. The motor is 45 mm diameter(duh) and the smallest gearing chice will be 52 spur and an 18 pinion. With the gearing and tire size on the LST I figured an 18 or 20 should get me to 40mph or so.

Sounds like you either need to get creative with the drillpress & dremel or make a call to Mike!

Good luck with the project, can't wait to see it!
