Revo Brushless Conversion coming up!
I got a good deal on a barely used Revo 3.3. I received it today, so I had to take it out for a spin with the Nitro Engine.
The feel of the Nitro power is completely different than Electric. The little Engine runs good and the sound of the engine revving is pretty awesome, BUT.......... Compared to Brushless, it takes a long time to spool up. I now know it's not that hard to spank Nitro with the Brushless power! LOL Cute Little Nitro! LOL My Brushless E maxx would totally blow this away in a race. :mdr: I do like how the Revo is designed, but was a little disappointed to see how heavy this truck is. I wonder how much weight can be shaved off of it? |
Well, one very easy way is to take the throttle/brake servo off, and take out 1st gear to lock the tranny into 2nd gear. Tires and rims also make a huge difference in weight. That should definitely help to keep the weight down a little.

My Revo weighs in at ~11lbs with 14 GP3300 cells...
Funny that you say the 3.3 is "little". lol. Imagine that truck with the 2.5! There was some speculation about the HP rating of the 3.3 and it was said to be right around 1HP give or take, and that's at the max, not the whole RPM range. I'll take electric HP any day... |
Yeah, you can't even compare electric HP to ICE (internal-combustion) HP... it's all in the torque curve. :rules:
