Is a strobe sprong...

...worth $40? I have the slipper on the way.

If you want to have a true, wobble-free spur, the sprong is the best option.
Worth 40? That's up to you to decide. How bad do you want it?

ClodMaxx 10.06.2007 09:10 AM

prior to having the sprong, i never really minded the spur wobble. it never caused any harm. the sprong is nice, though, but to me it's not worth $40. i do like the ability to tighten the sprong with my fingers out in the field instead of using a wrench (although it's hard on the fingers - and you have to use some pretty serious hand strength to get that sucker tightened down really well).

i think the sprong works best in applications where a metal spur is used with a metal pinion. you really don't want the mesh to move much. plastic on metal is more forgiving.

i say put the $40 towards something else - like a bunny. or a Bee Gees box set.

mkrusedc 10.06.2007 11:13 AM

Thanks guys. Clod Bee Gees ??

lincpimp 10.06.2007 12:10 PM

A bunny? The furry kind, or is that a new term for 'controlled sustance"?

The Bee Gees rule, but I do not know how many people could appreciate a box set!?

ClodMaxx 10.06.2007 12:17 PM

the furry kind, but not one with huge nuts. i don't think many would appreciate that. barry gibb might, however.

Where did you come up with a strobe??? I can't find one anywhere. Might as well tell me where the spong is too.

Clod, why do you have to bring up bunnies when you know Lincpimp is going to be reading this. You know how he is...:eyes:

mkrusedc 10.07.2007 08:40 AM

The sprong is on eBay for a BUY it Now $40

and the Strobe was in stock on 9/28 for a couple of hours at UE!?! I could not believe my luck. I was looking for bulks and saw the strobes.

mkrusedc 10.07.2007 08:49 AM

:eyes: Ok, I have a really noobish question. At RC-Monster you can't even go through the order process on the website if an item is out of stock. At UE can you?

I am going to feel real stupid sitting here waiting for my "in stock slipper". I just checked my order status and it says pending. Is that pending because they are out of stock? If so I guess I have to make a phone call Monday morning.

I would say something about this comment, but it is probably correct:oops:

Yes, Barry Gibb may be partial to large nuts, he does appear to be "playing for the other team"

To sum it all up we just need to keep in mind a "freshly drilled h..."

i suspect you break out the bee gees box set, floss your teeth, then play with your kermie. you know, make him lip sync to the brothers gibb.

too bad that in order to animate a puppet, you gotta shove your hand up his... :gasp:

GorillaMaxx360 10.08.2007 10:39 AM

how much wobble is there on the stock strobe setup and is this wobble normal. the reason i ask this is because i made a revo setup work for me and it works well but has a very slight wobble. my nitro cars wobble and work fine. i am trying to figure out if i should change setups but with out the sprong if the strobe wobbles it seems i am just fine. what do you guys think.
