upgraded to VXL Tranny internals in FLM Rusto

I upgraded the tranny gears to all steel (VXL) and used Avid Revolution bearings. Did some nice smooth speed runs and its ready for Sunday's TNT Dragrace. It's a bit noisier then with the plastic diff in there. I packed the diff with Vaseline instead of grease this time. Going to see how it works out over time.

While you had it appart you should have out a xl5 slipper on it. Love the flm tranny case, very nice!

Thanks!

It's alot easier to find the old style spur gears around my area. And for dragracing I have less rotating mass on the spur, since I run it in the locked mode with this adapter.

Ok, makes sense. If you are not going to use the slipper, then there is no point having the extra weight.
