Brushless 1/8th on-road?
Has anyone ever converted an 1/8th scale on-road car like the Serpent or Kyosho to brushless?
Just wondering, have not seen one, would love to see one, would like to have one even more. |
the search button is your friend;

5S would be easier.But 4S would do, it will take a higher KV motor.

Just throwing in my two cents worth. For most applications, 4S with a 2600kv motor does nicely. For insanely fast speeds, you can jump up to 5S with a lower kv motor and use gearing.
We got our Kyosho Inferno GT up to 94mph running a 1900kv Neu 1512 motor on 5S. |

Sorry, did'nt even think to search. Is there any word on a conversion for the Serpent? My LHS has two in stock and have been drooling over them, when I thought how cool would it be to make them brushless.
My problem is no access to machines or materials for these conversions. |

Rene is a lehner basic XL or a feigo L sized motor enough for a 1/8 onroad on 4s ?. The main reason im thinking 4s is because the packs are smaller. The car im looking at is a mugen mrx4. |
i would go for the L sized feigao, since it has more torque.
4S should be enough. |

Since the cars are fair light, a higher KV wouldn't hurt; but a feigao 8L might require some tuning in the gearing department to avoid it from getting too hot.
