Neu motor holes in the can
I've recieve my Neu 1515 with the rearbell cover, but for the 4 big holes in the frontbell, what do you use to keep dirt to penetrate?
I've think to put electrical tap, do you think it's OK? |
I use the motor mount to cover the front holes, but electrical tape will work fine.
|
Yeah, as cart123 said, electrical tape works fine, but the majority of the holes are covered by the mount.
|
OK that's what i think, cover by the motor mount, but for a $300.00 motor, i think to put a double security and instal 4 little pieces of electrical tape :intello:
|
the motor mount covers mine fine

Mike also sells this to cover the wire side holes http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...EUcover&cat=20

Yeah, I believe he is concerned with the holes in the front of the motor where the mount doesn't cover them. The cover Mike sells is plenty IMO and has no chance of falling off since it is quite difficult to try to take off...
|
I'd put electrical tape on it even with the motor mount covering them. After seeing the insides of my brushed motors fill with rocks that stuck to the magnets I like to seal my motors as best I can.

I just cut out a piece of lexan left over from a body I cut out. Works great and stays put better than electrical tape. the glue tends to let go when it gets hot. I got the idea from Mike by the way.

I used lexan as well, it works great so far

I think Mike has another product to make for the masses.
An aluminum front bell cover that screws into the 4 screw holes and then has 4 other mounting holes for the motor mount.... much like the Lehner version. EDIT: WAIT........ the Lehner cover should work! Silly me... |
