My FLM Neu Maxx is Done (Pics)
My Current Setup:
FLM Chassis FLM Shock Towers FLM Hybrid Bulks FLM Alu Tranny Case FLM Skid Plates Alu Front & Rear Bumper & Mounts Robinson Racing Double Disk Slipper Kit RBI Wheelie Bar G1 Single Motor Mount Neu 1515 1Y Motor MGM 22418 brushless ESC Two MaxAmps.com Lipo 8000HV 2S2P 7.4V Packs Traxxas Lightweight Alu Turnbuckles Titanium Pillow Balls Airtronics 94361Z Rock Crusher High Torque Servo MIP Shiny CVD Kit T-Maxx 2.5 Dual Hot Bodies Steel Differential Gear Set Lightning Hot Bodies Front/Rear Diff Hardened Lightning Golden Horizons Alum BB Steering Set Bead Lock Size 40 Wheels Integy Alloy Servo Guard Silver Traxxas Shaft Low Idler Gear Shaft Integy Super Duty MSR5 Shock (Yeah Don't say it lol) MIP CVD Center Drive MIP CVD Center Drive Kit The first time I took it bashing, last night, I snapped a Titanium pillowball, and snapped the drive cup on the 1/8th hardened diff. I am going to have to put some plastic back on it to soften it up a little. The roll cage I am using is a Revo roll cage that has been modded and zip tied, I have a buddy custom building one to fit. I took off the shrink wrap on the MGM to do some soldering, it will have to be replaced. Also the wheelie bard needs to be replaced with something that doesn't stick out as it bends ridiculously easily. It weighs a ton and the shocks will have to be replaced as they just don't work (and are leaky to boot.) This is the first RC truck that I have ever built so comments and suggestions much appreciated. http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/2...9editedba1.jpg http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6...0editedty7.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/4...1editedhq3.jpg http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/899...2editedwp9.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4...3editedop8.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5...4editedfh3.jpg http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/3...5editedqq2.jpg http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/3...6editediw4.jpg http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/4...7editedur2.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/3...8editedtl3.jpg |
Very nice. I like the blue and aluminum theme. For shocks what about some SuperShocks or PowerStrokes? I'd replace the bumper brackets with the OE plastic ones. That will give you a little flex. If you are worried about weight couldn't you save weight on the wheels?

I wanted to use the SuperShock kit from UE but Mike is outta stock and every time I try to purchase anything from UE directly Paypal states that UE can't accept payments. Has anyone else had this issue? Currently I am thinking about mixing the Pro-Line Bypass shocks and the PowerStrokes. Good idea?
As for the bumper I may keep the Alu bumpers but go back to plastic mounts. |
Nice looking setup, but yeah...not too sure about those integy shocks. The Traxxas big bores are nice ones too, they are tough.

Cant say much about the shocks, since Im using MRS4s on my Gmaxx. That is a very solidly built truck, but I would say go to plastic bumper mounts- good idea to have some give & a weak point, saves transfering the impact of a crash to the more vital areas. As for the cvd issue, I would email Mike and get some modified out put shafts for your diffs; these allow the use of 3.3spec slider shafts (you will need the 3.3knuckles & turnbuckles too). Other than that its a damn near perfect setup- is that a green Neu? Looks green in the photos. I would however loose the 2speed- not needed unless you do lots of lowspeed crawling aswell as high speed driving.

Nice idea on thhe slider shafts, I think I am gonna have to get some. As for the green color I noticed that too, it appears to be a very dark greenish color. Maybe a new paint? I ordered the Pro-shocks too.
