BK programming cable?

I don't see these in the shop here anymore. I was wondering if anyone had one they wanted to sell, or had plans on how to build one.

Thanks!
Sleeb

I don't think its entirely necessary since there not that programmable to begin with. Keep in mind it won't work on XP.

I made one following the schematics that I found here:
http://www.lehner-motoren.com/download.php?la=en
(bottom of page; 'download diagram and layout' link)

The software was downloaded from BK
http://www.bk-electronics.com/bk_eng.html

The cable works great, but the software is buggy. I couldn't get it to reliably communicate using Windows XP (tried on 2 different computers), but it works fine with Win 3.1. The hardest part was finding a computer that still had win3.1. This was for a micro series controller, and the warriors may be better.

Ha! I was on that exact page and missed it. Thanks for the linkage. I just might have an old laptop around here somewhere that still has 3.1 on it.

Thanks again,
Sleeb

BK has a XP version now on their site.

jhautz 10.23.2007 06:39 PM

The BK XP version still doesnt work on XP for me. I ahve an older dektop with win2000 that works fine though.

I do agree though. The programing cable is fairly useless. Not much to adjust on the Warrior ESCs. The Micro ESCs do have a few more options, but Ive never owned a Micro so I dont really know if its worth it or not.

Welp, I'll find out soon, as one is in the mail to me. :)

Thanks guys!

I never had a problem with it working with XP....worked everytime for me....

sjcrss 10.23.2007 07:02 PM

I owned a few Micro controllers, and was able to adjust quite a few things, one thing to note....just remember to back up the original file.....before you start changing things....in case you mess up.....don't ask me how i know this.....

squeeforever 10.23.2007 08:09 PM

How do you know that? :na:

sjcrss 10.23.2007 09:39 PM

Squee, you would be the person to ask....well lets just say I changed the programming parameters, but had saved the original....but couldn't find the copy of the file...so the changes i did, I didn't like...so I had to hunt for it on my pc...to be able to restore it back to normal....

Gotcha.

Just wanted to post for all to see that sjcrss is a class act. Shipped it quick and packed well, and included the english translation. I got it the other day, and got it running on my XP box with only minor problems.

1st, if you are bypassing the BEC on the ESC, it won't work. You'll need to either plug the jumper back in, or stick the red wire back into the RX connector. This is becausebut the cable needs to power the ESC to work. My cable has a RX pack attached to it for four 1.5v AA batteries.

2nd, You'll need to get the most current software from BK. The one that was at lehner was old. It did connect to the ESC, but I couldn't change any settings. The one I got from BK (ftp://download.bk-electronics.com/WarriorProg.exe) allowed me to change settings, although it really only allows me to change the time to 100% throttle (to protect your tranny) the timing and the starting assistance. Since I'm going to be running 4S on it, some of those settings, minor as they are, will most likely come in handy.

BTW, this is running on a a Windows XP box with no problems. I'm using a real hardware parallel port (no USB emulator here) and it works perfectly fine.

Hope this helps anyone who might have had some problems getting theirs to work, and thanks again, sjcrss!
