removing the end caps....

I have removed all of the screws but can not seem to pry the darn end caps off of my 5700. I want to solder the motor direct to the esc. any tips before I break this thing?

I suggest keeping the motor wires, and just shortening the ESC wires to the desired length.

that's not a bad idea, I really wanted to remove the connectors though. I guess I could just solder the wires together where the meet?

if you want to solder the motor directly to the esc why not just remover the bulltet connectors and solder directly to the esc board.

I would however recommend that you just shorten the wires as its not easy soldering the tabs on the mamba max unless you have a very powerful soldering iron.

If for some other reason you need the end cap off the motor, just remove the screws from the REAR endbell and tap the shaft onto a solid surface. This will push the endbell off and pop the rotor out too. Don't get too carried away cuase you do not want to knock the magnet off the shaft!

The wires are not long enough to get from the motor to the ESC so I was going to replace all 3 with custom length wires. I have a weller soldering station with several temp irons and a big ole' bottle of flux so that is not concern.

Maybe I'll just leave it alone, I am not trying to correct an issue, just to increase efficiency.

Thanks for your replays.
