lehner basic xl for light Gorillamaxx
Anybody can tell me if a lehner basic xl would be a good motor for a light maxx, 7.7lbs rtr they say 1300w and 65000 rpm... right now i'm running a fiegao 8l and pretty happy with it but looking for alternatives after that one, I also have an 8xl but dont use it anymore, to much torque for my light truck
|
Hmm, with enough voltage, I'm sure it could be. I know people used to run 1930's in E-Maxx (which weighed a ton more than your E-Maxx).
A XL shouldn't be that much less motor than a 1930... I'm pretty sure it'd work... |
Running any motor up to 65000 rpm will get it hot. I would think that sticking to under 40K rpm on a motor that size is a better bet.
Maybe look into the new Basic XXL motors. But I don't know where to get it. I had Mike looking into one for me before he broke ties with BK and Lehner and stopped carrying them. |
I know Serum had (or has) a lehner XL or XXL in a lightweight Emaxx that weighed 6.8lbs, so you should be fine in theory.

I used a 3100XL in my gmaxx with dace suspenion arms.
|
I had a XL3100 as well. Go with something like the XL2400 or 2800. The 3100 is just to hot.
|
1200xl would be intresting on 5s
|
Thanks for your help guys, I won't go to 5s so I woudn't go with anything lower than the 2400 or 2800xl. That is probably my next motor after my 8l.

i still have got the XL2400. not doing anything with it currently.
