1:6 scale Jeep build

I'm almost done with my 1:1 Jeep and I've been collecting parts to build a scale replica of it. Right now here's a list of parts-

Maxx front and rear ends
Axial tranny
Nylint 1:6 Jeep hard body
LST tires and wheels
Soon to have ESC/Motor/Radio combo, probably a TQ3

Still looking what to make my links out of and what the chassis will look like. The axles will be solid and will be made mostly of aluminum using stock bulkheads that will be trimmed and cut up to take the aluminum plates. I'm hoping to put in rear steer or a winch, haven't decided which one yet. I was thinking of front dig but since it's just a trail vehicle and won't be used for comps I don't think I'll need it. This is my first real crawler. I had a 1:6 Nylint back when they first came out and ever since I've wanted to make a scale crawler. Now I have my chance!

This rig will have all the do-dads and trinkets my 1:1 rig has, including the custom stickers that are on my ride. I can't get Super Swamper Iroks in the R/C world so the LST Boggers will have to do. They will be narrowed and so will the rims. The body, sliders, and cage will all be modified to mirror the junk on my 1:1 rig. I'm also adding a rear tire carrier later on.

Onto the pics. If you guys have any suggestions, please speak up! I think it will be on the light side so I might have to add some bb's to the tires. I was also thinking of adding a soft top.

New setup. This is just a mockup with the body and wheels. What do you guys think?

It's going to be a big truck. It makes those lst tires look small. I was looking at the scale crawlers on a crawler site someone posted and the work people put into those things is amazing. If I had the skills i'd love to make a nice scale (or not) crawler. Judging by your revo you have the skills so this should be good.

that is the crawler from walmart correct?

if so i have a freind who has one and he loves it!

Yep, Nylint was the WalMart crawler. I don't like how fragile and bulky the Nylint drivetrain is, so I'm using my own.

Thanks MT Biker.

Keep us posted. I did one with a Jeep Cherokee Body and it was cool. Sold it Ebay eventually though.

Here's a pic of it next to a pede and my Sealth. It was a big sucker!

I'm thinking of changing my build around. It actually might be a couple weeks before it actually kicks off. I'm still in the design phase and things are still changing. I'm not longer going with an Axial tranny, but a E-Maxx tranny instead. I'll probably be swapping out the tranny in the E-Revo with a 1/8 buggy center diff. We'll see what happens!

Update on the project. I started narrowing the LST tires, I think I got the perfect width for what I want. I can always make another set, these were old and cheap! I'll be narrowing the beadlocks too (Maximizers). As you can see, I also picked up a set of Twin Force axles and will be using those instead.

This is a sllloooowww project! :)
