lipos dead?
i have some old 3s 3700 polyquest "twenty" lipos laying around. i run a cycle through them every once in a while, but how do i tell what kind of shape they're in? i really don't want to run them in my truck without knowing if they are in good shape.

If you have no reason to think they are bad (nothing funky that you know of... never dropped below 9 volts etc)... and they still are balanced, take a charge correctly, etc... I would say they are still good.
Lipos are cool that way. Unlike some Nimh that will go bad like like bananas if you don't use them. |
i have 3 packs and i know at least one of them has been below 9.0v. how would i check them with a volt meter?
|
Just use the meter on a DC setting.. check the main lead wires. If the packs have a tap plug, you can also check the voltage of each cell in the pack. Put the probes on two adjacent pins (careful to not let the probes touch) and it should show the volt of a cell... then move the probes over one spot and it will show the next cell. etc...
