Few questions about the Truggies...
I currently own a BL/Lipo Rustler. But would like to step it up a notch... Truggies? I have a few questions though. What kind of runtimes/speeds are you guys pulling? My base truck would be a 5T hands down... I see that there will be a mount released here soon. What size batteries are you guys running, or recommend? What about the driveline durability since there is no slipper? Motor/ESC combo? Thanks guys!

Ther is a whole thread on setups and runtimes, it depends on driving style and battery mah.
as for a motor ther is the semi-cheap-econo-sorta way is a Feigao xl, a mm and 4s liipo or the lighten-you-pocket-quick sorta way a nue motor, a mgm or quark esc and 6s+ lipo |
How much is the Nue/Quark combo? LOL
|
don't waste time on the quark! get a mgm and a neu. the quark will burn on 5s and won't even work on 6s. personally i would use 4s or 5s flightpower lipos so that longevity isn't an issue. the higher voltage you run the more efficiently your system will run! i think 5s should be the limit though, plenty of runtime and plenty of power. i am having great results with a 1515 2.5d on flightpower 5s 25c packs, everything stays cool!

ya im going to say 6s is not for racing. more for showing off the power.

What are the advantages of the Flightpower Lipos over MaxAmps? I have used MaxAmps in the past and they have treated me well.
|
they hold there voltage better under load.

However, if you're after a HV setup, the C rating doesn't mean as much since you're not pulling as much current to get a given wattage that you would at lower voltage.

I have been hearing a lot about people running clutch bells/clutches in their 1/8s is this something that is recommended?
|
No. I would avoid a clutch setup at all cost...

Plastic "spur" gear on the center diff? Whats the weak link?
