possible conversion idea

I found this today & was thinking it would make a very nice conversion for on road or dirt oval. It has tunable FR & RR diffs with a single speed center gear.

It's a cheap way to get a onroad car also. But skellyo just told me the body's cost $42.00 ouch :gasp::lol:.

Oooh, this looks nice. Makes me want to ditch the Hellfire project I was working on in favor of this. Anyone interested in a semi-roller Hellfire?

Nice buggy for on road. My buddy has one of them that he runs nitro for pavement oval racing. Lets just say he found the weak spot in buggy when he had a runaway last weekend...

A relatively slow (20mph) runaway striaght into a curb. Thets when he noticed that there is no front chassis brace on that thing. He bent the chassis to a 30 degree angle right beween the center diff and the front steering stuff. Along with the chassis, the servo tray bent, the front and rear dog bones bent and the bending servo tray also cracked the case on his throttle servo. Still to be determined if the servo will survive. The damage was rather severe for the hit it took. We have had 1/8 buggies curbed there alot harder than that and walk away with much less damage.

It a nice lightweigt buggy, but not didn't appear to be a very tough setup. For the $$$ you really can complain though. Just dont plan to beat it too hard.

It doesn't look much different then a regualar buggy. Looks good though.

True but it has lowerd shock tower & shorter shocks & a single speed center gear & it's under $200.00.

I was going to buy one, but decided to convert my Ofna MBX buggy instead. They are basically the same vehicle, save for the shock towers and shocks. I ordered the solid center drive, it will accept the 51 tooth plastic ofna spur gear. I also got the front bumper and mount and the body posts. Found a used viper body on ebay for 15 shipped. Looks like a fun project, and I can confirm that the gtp has very good diffs and strong arms. I will most likely make a top plate to reinforce the chassis. I am going to leave the buggy shocks on for the time being, unless I can find a good deal on shorter shocks and the gtp towers. I will throw up some before and after pics of the conversion as I go. Need to finish my revos first, argh too many projects!

A chassis brace would be easy to add.
