Rusty's last stand!
With my wife at her mom's this weekend and my Revo arriving tomorrow I seized the opportunity to give the Rusty the last attention besides bashing it will see for a long while. And a chance to work with the 3mm CF before the Revo gets here. That's some strong stuff.
5700 hardwired to mm, and CF power switch mount. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...res_switch.jpg CF esc mount. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...y/themount.jpg Waterproofed the rx and installed a waterproofed blue bird bms630mg. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...waterproof.jpg Rc-Bros shocks. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...y/thefront.jpg FLM ext. drive shafts. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...Rusty/rear.jpg I'll get the ext. chassis after the revo rolls under it's own power or I break this one. This truck has to hold me over until the revo runs. |
what chassis is that you are using?
|
I'm pretty sure now he's running the stock chassis.

LOL,now i see; i thought it was a secret RPM thing.. It's a grey colored of the vxl dyed blue..
|
dyed blue and chopped up with a dremel. :D
|
That's a nice rusty. Arent those rear shock springs are going to bind before you hit full travel. I know it's a good way to break shocks on MTB's.
|
I had the same issue on my flm rustler - It gets very heavy at the rear with the ali transmission case... You need to put the spring up hard to keep it level and provide some cushioning...
|
I have stiffer springs I just need to put them on. I have alot of weight on the rear. flm tranny, rc-heatsink, swamibar. I need to up the oil to 60wt too I think. It's a bit soft.

Dicky,
Nice looking Rusty. Got any pics from this weekend? mark |
Thanks Mark, no pics other than post assembly. I just bashed around in my condo parking lot. Revo will be here in the morning, I can;t wait to strip the nitro gear off of it.

Sounds like fun. Keep us updated with the build.
