A few Feigao questions...

hi guys, as the title says, i've got two questions

1) does anyone know how many turns a Feigao 15XL has

and

2) can a 9L be run with a Novak HV Maxx ESC

thanks in advance :mdr:

1. Brushless motors aren't really rated in turns.
2. No.

Gotta learn someway. Different motors are rated different ways, like a Lehner will be 1950/7. 19 for the diameter of the rotor, 50 for the length of the rotor, and 7 for the turns so to speak. Its more like winds though. For instance, a 7 turn brushed motor will be NOTHING like a 1950/7. Novak motors are usually rated by the equivalent in brushed turns though, which is kinda stupid. I.E. 4.5 would be a brushless equivalent of a 4.5 turn brushed motor, but its not accurate.

jordan, poke around a but on the forum, use the search engine to ask basic questions, and if you don't find what you're looking for post the q's.

Brushless motors are rated in ####KV, i.e. 2400KV (means this motor turns 2400 rpm per volt of power) also motors are rated in watts handeling (i.e. 1100 watt motor will not get as hot at 1000 watts load as a 800 watt handling motor). Lots of math involved, so you propably would want to find successful combinations to copy until you get an understanding for it all.

There are also "sensored" and "sensorless" brushless motors which is why the novak/feigao don't work togeather... again poke around for awnsers.

thanks for the understanding guys, i just got into brushless after the Titans decided to start smoking and melt all the windings and fans :oh:

i normally do do a search, but those questions were actually asked by people, because i'm selling some brushless stuff on ebay and needed some quick answers...

anyways, i really appreciate the help, probably need a few more questions answered as i finish my brushless SM... :mdr:

thanks

The Novak motor turn numbers are actual, brushless turns, and in no way analogous to brush turns.
