Bomb-Proof LSP mount
Hey guys, as some of you know, I've had a BPP LSP for a while now, but haven't ran it but a very little since I need to get a center diff mount machined for it. I've been playing around with eMachines Shop and this is what I've come up with. Any comments, suggestions, criticism is welcome. I still need to change it up a little and design the front. I think I might design it to were I can have a top plate to connect them like a standard diff, but its really not necessary. If I do, it'll probably be out of CF. On to the pic...

wanna sell that BPP LSP Squee?... :) did you design that urself?.
|
Nah, I don't really wanna sell it to be honest. Its not something I can really replace. And its probably the best handling truck I've ever seen. But yea, I designed that mount myself for it. I changed it a little bit more since last night. I dunno if I should make it have a top plate or not....

That is nice. Here is what I've done so far. It has mount spacing for the 22 and 30 series Lehner motors.
|
Like you would ever need a 30xx Lehner in any kind of R/C truck...
|
Yours will be impossible to mill Squee; the straight edges are near impossible
And there isn't much room for the screws to mount it either. Not enough meat. |
Well, I would like to have one LOL. For me the more the better. A 3040 would do just fine. It would make my BPP go :diablo:.

If you give me the dimensions, i am more than willing to help you out, and show you what i mean.
The bearing support through hole is too small; It might be hard to get the drive-cups trough. A 1mm smaller hole than the actual bearing hole would be fine. |
Ok, thanks Serum! Dimensions don't really matter. Simply a diff mount for a HB diff using a Kyosho spur, with pinions ranging from 9 to 24 (all available mod1) with the standard motor holes and all. The bearing support through hole is 13mm and the other is 16.2 I believe. I figured 1.4mm on both sides was enough, but not to much. The BPP mounts hole is pretty small, but thats a Ofna diff.
|
Okay, 16.2 for the bearing is way too large! A 16mm bearing is 15.96 mm od, i thought Mike makes his bearing holes 16.06 or such Hang on, i'll draw you a plate.
|
I usually make bearing holes for bearings that size roughly 0.05mm larger than the bearing OD. Also, I agree, I sometimes make 0.5mm lip for the bearing hole, it's enough, really. About the internal corners, I make mine 3mm diameter, or 1.5m radius fillet.
|
Alrighty. I've talked to people before about the bearing hole, and thats what I was told, but I'd believe Serum over just about anyone...

How about something like this?
|
Should have mentioned the motor has to be in the center. That looks REALLY good though. Think it could be changed just a tad to put the motor over the diff?
