Here is a photo of my little motor next to a Lehner 2250 and Align 600L.

Interesting, I am looking for a different motor for my rc18t, do you think that It would be able to push a mini to around 40mph? The shaft looks to be the correct size, but the bolt pattern looks to small.

I think that motor might be more suited for an micro-t, it might get quite an exercize in an rc18!

Allthough, as long as you don't gear it over the moon it might work.

 I think we can work something out for the 18th scale.

I would think that the micro t would prefer a longer can of this type of motor. It may get too warm when used for a longer period of time. Plus I am not sure about the strength of the shaft as I has a hole drilled in the end. It may snap with the high load ability of the micro t rear tires and trans.

Lutach, what motor is it, specs etc?

johnrobholmes 11.13.2007 04:35 PM

You gonna ride that thing to work?

Serum 11.13.2007 04:39 PM

that hole in the shaft was certainly one of my main concerns as well, but on the other hand; a combination of the perfect slipper setup on the micro-t, and the use of relative weak nylon pinion i think you might get away with it. I think you might want to use plastic driveshafts, to avoid any direct stress on the shaft.

The motor is a high speed motor used in automation machines. It is rated at 15K rpms, has 8 poles, 57MM diameter, 70MM length, the shaft is 8MM in diameter and 30MM in length. I thought about rewinding it, but I have to get some time for myself to do that. It has a ton of torque and it is rated for 48 volts. I did hook it up to my Spin 75 with 36 volts and it said in the spin box that the motor's rpm was 25K rpm.

Looks cool Lutach... you gonna put it in the new Nano-T?... LOL

BP-Revo 11.13.2007 09:01 PM

lol...I hope you plan for this Micro-T to be your emergency tow system in case your 1:1 breaks down (what I mean is that you can use it to tow your 1:1 to the nearest auto repair shop LOL).

maybe you can toss it in a zip-zap.

You guys are funny. When I get my chassis done, you will see this big boy making sense. I love this forum.

How is the esc going? Has the designer got it to work yet, programming wise?

The ESCs are done, but the programming is what they are having trouble with. I already found 2 other companies that can make a car HV ESC and I hope to get a sample to test in a few months.

Is it a three phase? 8 magnetic pole? I am very intrigued.
