Hey MGM specialist, take a look please
Could somebody tell me what's the "ms" in the breaking and acceleration parameter on the programing table.
On the Castle programing template, the acceleration is easy to understand because acceleration is explain in "low", "medium", "hard", "very hard", etc.... But MGM name it with "ms", as .13, .86, etc.... What this "ms" does it mean:gasp: How can i know what this number does it mean??? I realy not understand. I know this is in relation with trottle position, but WHY???????????? http://mgm-compro.com/manuals/en-man...1x-d160807.pdf |
ms = milli-seconds, I am willing to bet. Think of it as a time-delay before you hit full power, or something like that I think.....
|
As I understand it for acceleration ms is the time that it takes to fully apply the new voltage value. This is documented as a method to control possible overloading of the power capacitors due to under voltage.
So during hard acceleration if using a small ms value there are larger spikes in amperage as compared to using a higher ms value. This may also have a similar effect to setting punch control on an MM controller but I have not played with it enough to confirm this. |
It's the same as Quarks 'dynamic torque settings', or MM punch control....
It's not just a delay, it's a slew delay.. so say you set the delay to .86, if the R/C is sitting still, then you pull full throttle, AS SOON as you pull the trigger it will increase the voltage to the motor in a linear fashion in the 0.86 seconds that you set. So, between 0.00 seconds and 0.86 seconds, the 'throttle', or ultimately, the voltage going to the motor. These settings are very friendly for your trucks drive train, it drastically reduces the "CAPOW" bang on your tranny gears.. it also feels nice have this delay as well, it makes it feel 'juicy'. |
OK.... For acceleration, i can understand what you mean. If i set acceleration at 0.13ms, it will take 0.13ms to the controler to send the full power to the motor, so the acceleration will be brutal.
Set at 2.99ms, it'll take 2.00ms to send 0 thrue 100% of the power to the motor. That's good. But tell me for breaking. The light value is 0.13ms and the harder value is 2.3ms, but if i set it to light, it's suppose to "soften" the brake, but at 0.13sec, the full brake will be applie very fast. And if i set it at 2.3 (very hard), normaly it'll take 2.99 ms to apply 100% of the brake power, for me is more like a soft setup, not like very hard.:eyes: But anyway, when i'll recieve mine(suppose to be tomorrow) i'll try it with different setup. Just hope that all goes fine when i'll plug my li-po pack on it, because seam to have lot of people since a few days who've smoke MGM controler.:oh: |
Part of it is that the table is written for the boat parameters as well. Just go by the relative settings and you are fine

Yeah, it looks like there is some sort of typo on that part, it should be the same as throttle with delay... |
