Finally finished E-Aftershock...

It's taken me a month but I finally finsihed it. It's running with a FD XLT1 motor w/ HV Max heatsink, MM w/ UBEC, powered by (2) 7.4V 6000mah lipos in series. Stock servos are used and I kept the radio box to keep the reciever protected. I cut a E-maxx Chassis and mounted it in the middle of the Losi Chassis and am also using a emaxx tranny with the gorillamaxx single speed conversion. A little cutting of the Losi chassis was required but not to much.

I also hacked up a extra gorillamaxx chassis I had so I could use the battery holders. The stock body fits perfectly and still covers the lipos, nothing sticks out. You can really see it in the pics. So far I've only tested it out in the garage and it seems to have a lot of power. I just need to add a fan to the MM for extra cooling. What do you guys think? LMK. Here's the pics:

I also bought this off a member since he had an extra one made. I think I'm going to so another one but with LST2 parts.

Looks awesome, you should get a vid of it running! The second chassis looks really clean too.

Intersting. I just thought of making an E-aftershock yesterday, but haven´t even started the searching after parts yet.

But yes let´s see a video.

bluonyx 11.17.2007 02:39 AM

I can't take the credit for the second chassis, I bought it from Mickeymoose. He does awesome work. I just picked up another aftershock on ebay tonight. Guess I'm doing another one.

As for taking a video it's kind of hard for me unless I take a tripod along. No one else in my family likes the R/C thing. And I bash with my brother-in-law and father-in-law, and they both can't video record if thier life depended on it. The funny thing is my father-in-law was in the movie industry for 40 years and he sucks at videos. Go figure.

I will try though!

That chassis from mickeymoose looks awesome!

Why don't you convert a LST2 as a second truck?

aqwut 11.17.2007 11:58 AM

I like that second chassis.. I'm gonna make one for my LST... Good job Bluonyx

I was trying to get a LST2 roller but they woould always go to $300 or more on Ebay. I paid $160 for the Aftershock minus the radio gear. I think it was a pretty good deal. I'll turn around and sell the tranny and Team Losi M26SS "Big Block" engine. Believe me, if I could get a LST2 cheap enough I'd jump on it.

The little voices in my head are already yelling at me for buying a Hyper 7 Pro roller last night too. Right after the Aftershock. Just don't tell the wife.:oh:

If the missus does moan, just question her about all those shoes & unworn dresses in the wardrobe....

Looks really good,- the emaxx chassis (or whats left of it) is dwarfed by the Aftershock chassis, makes it a good fit.

Unfortunately, my wife hates to shop and doesn't like the typical girly stuff. No expensive shoes, dresses or sparkly stuff. I'm still working on my ammo.

Here's a video for ya guys. My first attempt with Vista Movie Maker. Mines the red one. it ran really good, temps on the MM never got above 110 and 150 for the XLT1. I also got a 35 minute run with the 6000mah lipos. We left once my father-in-law broke a rear bulkhead on his Maxx.

Nice vid! What's the difference between the Aftershock, LST, LST2, and the Muggy?

sikeston34m 11.19.2007 02:46 AM

Very Nice Truck! It seems to have alot of power slinging dirt with those monster Meats.

What wind is that motor? I didn't know the Mamba max would push a larger motor/truck so well.

What spur/pinion combination are you using?

It looks like you really found the sweet spot with that setup. Way to go! :yipi:

P.S. Oh..........22/70 gearing......I see that now.

bluonyx 11.19.2007 02:50 AM

I know the LST2 has much beefier parts, nice aluminum diffs, pretty shocks, 20mm hexes instead of 14mm. Here are some pics showing the difference in durablity. The beefier ones are the LST2.

As for the Muggy it's a truggy so it sits loser and handles way better. More for racing instead of bashing. I'm sure someone will add more info.

Ah, and what's an Aftershock? Losi confused me with all of these and I've never taken the time to analyze each one.

No one knows the exact wind or specs on the XLT motors from FineDesign. I tried emailing Chris @ FD and he just assures me that the motor quality and guarantees it. If I have any problems just let him know. I even tried to get my LHS to get specs and they wouldn't give it to him either.

I love those Losi tires so much I switched to a pair on my maxx as well. They make that lift truck tire sound just like the full size ones.

Just in case anyone wants the pics here they are again. Since the links were old.
