bk 9920 esc not working...

So the other day im running my emaxx (9920,7xl,16-18cells, had this setup for about 2 years) then after about a minute, it stops and the throttle doesn't respond...oh eff. I take a look at it and discover that the receiver wire from the esc is melted(yellow,orange,brown..but just the brown is melted) im a little upset cause i figured i just blew this thing up. I check for wires that might be exposed and touching metal, i find a couple of spots (a small cut in the motor and a small cut on the receiver wire on the esc) i tape them up and test it. Works perfect, im totally psyched. I decide to take it behind my job where there is a sick ass sand pit with huge drops and inclines. I beat the piss outta it for a good 20 minutes, battery drops off and i decide to head back to my car and go home. The next day i charge the batts and im psyched to go beat it up some more...i plug everything in and hit the throttle...nothing....the steering works but there is no repsonse from the throttle. I switch out receivers and still nothing. I strip the heat shrink from the esc and can't find anything visibly wrong i replace the receiver wire and still nothing...this is where im at now, any ideas ppl? Thanks

You could check the plug to the rx and make sure it's going in all the way? Or that you plugged it in correctly?
Are you using an external ubec? If so, try an rx pack...

I have a 9920 that basiclly done the same thing and I am trying to figure it out too. Send it back to BK and you might get it back in 6 months, So i have heard. Good luck on finding out what it is. If I find anything I will let you know.

damn, oh well, i really wanted to use my emaxx on thanksgiving day, looks like i need a new controller or wait a half year.
Thanks for your input.

i wonder if it just needs to be reprogrammed.....wishful thinking perhaps.

I would try it, certainly would not hurt. Unless, there is a bad connection somehwere?
The only time i had this happen is when one of my cells came loose. But things got hot for me when that happened as well. Another thing to check is make sure all the wires are connected to the controller (orange, brown, etc), sometimes, those thin wires can break...that happened on a 15020 I had. Also see if that orange chip (the one you pull to program) is in all the way too. could get loose.

Worse case scenerio, depending on your batts you have, get a MM. 135.00 or so shipped from Mike. :)

i replaced the yellow/orange/brown wire cause it melted somehow, so it wasn't that(im pretty sure) i actually have two MM esc's i dont wanna risk overheating and destroying them as well, the thought of using them had occurred...i wonder if the CC 110HV boat controller would work? thanks again for any suggestions and info ppls.

Check the motor wires if they are fully connected on.
Hope this helps..
