mm brakes...can they react like nitro brakes?
what do you guys run as mm setting for a revo to get good brake "feel"? i love man brakes but my electric brakes seem to be either 100 brake or none at all.....thanks!:yipi:

If you have a computer radio, you can make adjustments to the brake through that. If you feel like your motor brake is only "on" or "off", then something isn't set up right.

Motor brake is not "on/off" but can feel like it, especially at speed. This is because the braking effect is directly related to RPM. The more RPM, the more braking effect per input. If you apply 10% brake at 5mph it will probably take the same distance to stop as 10% brake at 10mph. Its very weird and takes getting used to, but I find that motor brakes usually end up being a more powerful brake than most mechanical systems out there, though mechanical systems are much smoother and more predictable.
I personally would like to use the Revo brake system on all my vehicles, since its not only extremely powerful but very predictable and consistent. |
I had the same problem on my MM with my Maxx and Aftershock. So on the brake curve page I adjusted the line.
I grabbed the curve at 50 and pulled down a little. It took a couple of tries to get the brakes where I want them, but it works great. No more "on/off" feeling. |
You probably need to dial out more of the brake on the radio or MM software. Normally you only need the brakes set at like 20%...
Once you get it dialed out... you can grab full brake and the car will have just enough to get the job done, not too much that it locks up all fours or spins out. It makes it much smoother and easier to drive. With this setup, a quick tap of the brakes will be a subtle thing and not a violent one. |
Here's my dat file for my E-LST settings if you want it:
Just click on the RC Stuff Folder the file is in there: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bluonyx@sbcglobal.net |
