MM + 9L on 12cells in med. weight maxx

I originally had a 9920/7xl with 16-18cells in my maxx, but for some unknown reason the esc stopped working..whatev's im done being pissed about it. I have a couple of MM esc's not doing anything currently and i have been fiending to run my maxx. I just ordered a 9L and wanna run it on 12 cells just to use my maxx, this should suffice as long as i have the proper gearing and convert back to stock size wheels/tires right? thanks ppls.

A 9L is gonna run hot on a Maxx. You'll wanna switch to a XL motor or maybe run a fan on that 9L to keep it cool.

a 12 XL would run nice with 18 Cells bro... get that instead..
7XL and MM works great too on 12 Cells.. I also have this on one of my maxxes... it's all good with just a fan...

yeah im probably gonna try the 7XL and MM combo, i've never use a fan before...what fan did you use and whats the best way to wire it up. thanks

a 9L won't run too much hotter than an XL, all the feigaos run hot no matter what.

I can't recommend a specific fan, but the way I wire mine up is to use a "Y" connector to split the external BEC and fan, to go into the "battery" slot in the receiver. It has to be a 5V fan though I think.

I use a 30mmx30mmx10mm 12Volt fan... and connect the fan directly to the battery leads... so the fan is good for up to 4S...
