CEN Racing GTS BRUSHLESS!!!
So I was looking over my emaxx and see I have lots 1/8th scale parts. We have the 1/8 scale differentials, 1/8 scale shocks, ect. So why not just start with a 1/8 scale truck like the Cen racing GTS. It comes with metal CVDs, all metal diffs, 24mm wheel nuts, all metal dual steering servos, 8 shocks with functional reservoirs. At $500 seems like a really good deal. Heck it comes with everything I have upgraded to anyways and a big engine that you can sell on ebay for something like $150+. So what I know I want so far:
- I want to run a123 on the setup maybe 5s or higher with at least 2p - I want wheelie poping power. How much does this beast weigh with the motor (edit Just found in a review with engine it weighs 17lbs OUCH)? Can I get away with running a feiago motor on this beast? I am still on a budge? ( I already have too much power on my emaxx with 9xl, MM, and lowest timming with 5s a123 (14 cell nimh equal) ) - What do you think about this project? Give some feedback, maybe addition problems I will run into. Heck if this sounds good I might sell my emaxx and go from there. |
Just a pointer....
http://finedesignrc.com/ct-cen.asp IMO quite heavy for a MM and a Feiago... I've had issues with that combo on a revo.. |
In my eyes, it looks like a larger, uglier looking version of the Savage. I'd be more inclined to convert an LST2 or Aftershock, they use 1/8 parts dont they? Or as good as at anyrate.....

I agree the thing is kind of ugly. When I was doing some research it was one of the first 1/8 scales I had heard about but now I will have to try doing some more research on different models. So a heavy for a mamba setup well that might push it out of my price range. Hmmmmm. Well I have to keep crunching numbers and see where I end up on price since that is a major concern for me.

the body and the red aluminum just dont do it for me...
get a savage. you will be happy. |
There are lots of 1/8 buggies and truggies around these days, but few have quite the same look/feel as a normal 1/10 MT like the Maxx or Revo etc. The losi Muggy is one idea, or the CRT 1/8.
Heck, stick big V-tread tyres on anything and I'll consider it an MT in my eyes.... |
I'm sorry but CEN makes some ugly stuff. Get a MGT, Savage, or some other big block MT.

You can't go wrong with anything Losi. The E-Aftershock I just did was my first Losi. And I haven't broke anything yet, besides the body.

I agree with the Ugly colour they have for the chassis plates... but the quality if it is top notch... that's my favourite M/T by far.. I wouldn't use it for racing... but for bashing... you can't go wrong... The CEN GTS is my baby, and he's not ugly... :whip::tongue:
It's the toughest 1/8th monster truck out there by far... just the chassis plate is kinda sucks... now does this look ugly?.. http://www.geocities.com/aqwut/2006N..._05_resize.JPG |
