HV4.5 motor with mamba max esc and 4s?

i was looking at the novak HV 4.5 motor. how would it run with 4s lipo and the mamba max esc? should i just get the feigao instead?

i have done this same set up... in a g3r revo

my exp. was this, on 4s it cogged, it was still usable but not track worthy, the esc. also ran a little hot, caused by the cogging (???)

in my crt .5 on 3s it cogged very little and was way fast and powerfull, but it is very light compared to a mt

what is your setup???

if using a stock chassis and 2spd revo trans (requires a servo for brakes) it should be better because of the lower gearing of 1st gear

but i am not quite sure i would recomend this setup, you could try it, but if you need to buy the parts..... its up to you

it will be with stock tranny. if it coggs then i dont wanna deal with it. thanks. how about feigao? good on a 3s?

for 3s you will need a higher kv motor...

but i dont know how it will run, never ran that set up

hey wait i thught that the novak 4.5 motor was sensored. and the mamba esc is not a sensored esc.

or can you still run it with out pluging that wire into anything.

Arct1k 11.30.2007 07:21 AM

correct it just runs sensorless...

entjoles 11.30.2007 04:23 PM

now that i think about it, it would probably run good with the mm, if using the stock trans and 2spd

i never got a chance to test these in my 1st revo version

you can run a sensored motor on a sensorless controller. not the other way around though.

Revracer 11.30.2007 04:50 PM

you can run sensored motors on the sensorless speed controls. so you think a MM and the 4.5 would be good on a 4s pack? or do you think the HV system would be better?
