LMT 1920 big enough for Rustler or CRT 5.?
I was looking to get a new motor to run 4s on my Rusty. I like my Neu so much I thinking about just going to a highend motor and skip on the cheapie chinese motor.
Looking at ~$200 max, will a LMT 1920 do well in such a car? Wanting a 10turn (~3130kv) on 4S. I'm seriously considering getting a CRT .5 to replace the Rusty, so I want one that will be good for both. A 1930 is a bit too $$$. I have a MM left over from the Revo, so I'm not sure a Neu will work, but I've seen some people say the smaller Neus work ok w/ the MM. if so ,which size is better a, 1506 or 1509 (thinking 1509.) A NEU 1509 1Y (3600KV) Is what I was recommended by Mike , Mike even has them in the store....
And then theres a lower KV NEU in there, which would probably be a better 4s motor.... The 3600 KV Mike told me to get was to run 2 and 3s.... Im sure the LMT 1920 would work, but I think a 1930, or the NEU 1509 would be better... |
The 1930 can run a 1/8 buggy without issues, so a 1920 should be plenty in a CRT.5 or Rustler.

Holy hell, the motor works well on 4S! Destroys my 380C/6L motor. Not sure how fast it will do as WOT=flips, even at high speed. Did a 40mph cartwheel that went along way down the road when I gunned it too hard. Prolly at least 10-20 rolls. lol That's what a $200 motor buys you.
I know it will sail past 50, but the Rustler is too sloppy a rig to take it now. Needs quite a bit of work, its been pretty beat up on the last few years and all the plastic joints are a bit stretched out. The CRT calls...... |
neat, now I wanted to try a diff motor, but how do you find gears to fit a 5MM shaft for 48P?

I run a 1920 in my Pede. Its a great motor. No problem with my MM. They both run cool temps with 20\86 gearing on a 3s2p 8000 mah maxamp.

I have a real nice lehner hi amp 1940/5 turn (3100kv) motor that is perfect 0n 3s it is almost brand new (only 3 runs total) and I can't decide if I should sell it or get a crt 5 and put it in that. I ran this in a 9 pound txt-1 race truck on 3s and it had gobs of power and never got above 105 deg not even in hot weather, it runs super cool on 3s and I think it would make a perfect crt5 motor. Is the crt5 a fun basher?

A 1940 is gonna make the poor .5 go WHAKO. Definately no the right motor. A 1930 is already an over kill. A Kontronik Twist-47 or 55 with 3s will make you VERY happy. To tell you the truth, I have a bad feeling that the .5 will not last for long with the 1930/5, not on 4s. |
Yes your 1930/5 on 4s is insanely fast, I have had rotors brake loose with way less rpm's. The 1940/5 on 3s is pretty mello by comparison, your crt must be super whako! Mike cronin is a firm believer that its best to have a lower rpm motor with more torque to get the job done and that has rubbed off on me. Anyway what I wanted to ask you was is the crt5 with an extended chassis a good basher, because I might want one.

Surely is. The RC-Monster chassis is quite your choice for bashing and racing.
