Ubec ?

I'm thinking about getting a ubec and want to know something. Do you have to solder the ubec to the speedo wires or does it use a plug?. I would'nt want to void the warrenty by cutting the plug off the speedo. Thanks HIPPIE

You need to solder.. What esc have you got that?

rchippie 07.17.2005 08:06 AM

I dont have one yet but i'm most likely going to get a warrior 9920.

Dafni 07.17.2005 01:40 PM

No worries about warranties, Hippie. The Warrior will come without plugs anyway. The UBEC will have no plug on the input side (I just wire those leads on the ESC plug) and a handy plug on the output, which you plug into the RX.

Yes, just solder the plugs to the plugs/wires of the esc and cover it up with heatshrink..

It won't affect the warranty.

Thank's guys i just wanted to make sure. I also want to know are they really worth it sinice im only going to run 14 cells. ?.

Serum 07.17.2005 06:13 PM

I personally would use an UBEC when you go above 12 cells. those steering servo's can take some power..

Dafni 07.18.2005 01:08 AM

I would also go for an UBEC. They weight almost next to nothing.

Thank's for the repliy's guys. I'll be using a ntc3 radio box with a xxl reciver i think they will both fit.

Daf i bought a dispoable camera and will taking pics this week of the HIPPIE collection LOL!!!> and send them to mike for posting. The evo will be missing the speedo, the racebomb will blow you away i think.

Dafni 07.18.2005 01:36 AM

Oh, can't wait to see your trucks!

rchippie 07.18.2005 01:45 AM

I took the dafni-vo to the state race this weekend & people were blown away. I showed it to bobby moore he is sponserd by traxxas & won the rc-proseries finials in small block monster truck with a revo. He said it was awsome & asked his freind to take pics so he could post them on the traxxas site.
