What arms w/ FLM tranny? Nitro's required? How much toe to run?
I was looking at the FLM tranny to upgrade the plastic one I have. The hinge pin holes for the arms are stretched out, asn the whole back end is very sloppy.
What toe do people run? There is a 4* and a 1*. i'd prefer someting a bit int he middle, but is 4* too much? Also, it says it requires the "Nitro style arm mounts." Do you have to run nitro arms, or does this just refer to hingepin eclips vs screwed hinge pins. If the nitro arms are diff, I was going to get RPMs prolly, but does the axle carrier change then as well? I need a new one, but unsure if the RPM or VXL carriers fit, or you have to use the nitro carriers as well. I have a set of RPMs, so prefer to put those on vs buying new ones. One more thing. The jato silders fit well? I was going to get those and the VXL stub axels. Basically the whole rear needs to be redone as its all stretched out from the brushless beating its gotten over the last couple years and really needs to be tightened up to run the faster LMT setup I have now. Also was going to the jato style slipper as well w/ 32p pinions. should be a beast when I get done. Any other help or opinions are welcomed. |
If you will be hardcore racing it, the 4 deg mounts may be good? I would prefer the 1 degree as I run on a variety of surfaces. My pede has hyper 7 suspension on it, so I have no idea if the stock arms fit.

I had a FLM rustler - Just note that i found the case to be REALLY heavy... Change the car a lot and had to really stiffen up the back end...

I love the FLM tranny. Works as a giant heatsink and its quiet. It does add weight, but in my case that's a great welcome. I run the 1 degree version with the Jato driveshafts.
